Harriet C. Loudin (1845-1907) was an African-American suffragist, educator, and wife of world-famous musician Frederick Loudin. Their home was on S. Walnut St. in Ravenna, Ohio. Christina McVay teaches English and Pan-African Literature at Kent State University. She holds an MA in German from Ohio State University and an MA in Comparative Literature from Kent State University. She has published two books on Portage County history: Portage County, Ohio: the 20th Century, and Ravenna, a bicentennial album of 19th century photographs.
