Sowing, harvesting, bundling, drying, retting, drying again, breaking, scutching, hackling, and hackling some more! A farmer's hands interact with flax nine times, for the ultimate prize of fiber for fine linen thread or coarse tow twine. See it for yourself, and give it a try!
