Create meditative circular Zentangle art inspired by Hiroyuki Doi’s intricate circle drawings, as discussed in The Anthropocene Reviewed by John Green.
This program is part of The Community Read, sponsored by Hiram College. The book we are reading is John Green's The Anthropocene Reviewed and one of the essays highlights Japanese artist Hiroyuki Doi, whose detailed drawings are made almost entirely from repeated circles.
In this hands-on event, we’ll explore a meditative art technique called Zentangle, using circular repetition to create our own unique pieces inspired by Doi’s mesmerizing style. No artistic experience is needed, just a willingness to slow down, focus, and experiment with line and shape.
All materials provided. Limited to 15 participants.
