Our annual, all-ages kickoff to summer in City Park, in partnership with Ravenna Parks & Rec

Set sail for adventure at our summer kickoff event in partnership with Ravenna Parks & Recreation. We'll transform Ravenna City Park into a Treasure Island getaway for the evening with live music, games, activities, a photo booth, food trucks, a pirate costume contest and more. While you're there, sign up for the library's summer challenge to keep the adventure going all summer long. 

Admission to the event and all activities are free. Limited parking on site, additional parking at 832 W Main St. (St. Gobain building) and at West Park Elementary, 1071 Jones Avenue. 

Walk the Plank Costume Contest is at 6pm and requires registration. You may register online with this form or at the event. Individual & group contestants may either perform a Walk-On or a Skit. All contestants must wear a costume that goes with the theme “Set Sail for Treasure Island.” Pirates, mermaids, and any other
creative costumes are welcome. Groups are limited to 10 members.Each contestant or group must check in before the event.

Performance Rules:
• All Skit entries must be 3 minutes or less and all Walk-On entries must be 1 minute or less.
• There will be a microphone for contestant use. Music will not be provided.
• Any props used on stage must be able to be removed easily and must leave the stage in the same
condition as it was before the prop was used.
• Please provide a narration for your skit or walk on performance for the description of the costumes,
characters and performances.
