An introduction to the basics of gardening for kids.
In this five-week series, Jill Halligan from the Ohio State University extension office will introduce kids to the basics of gardening. Participants will enjoy hands-on activities with the goals of learning how to plant seeds, care for plants, and exploring the wonders of nature.
Activities will include: Container planting, learning about the Fibonacci spiral, Putting together your own mixed seed packets, Making a mini greenhouse out of recycled materials and extracting DNA from a strawberry.
Limited to 15 participants; aimed towards ages 8-12, but younger children may participate with a parent present.
