The novel depicts narrator Nick Carraway's interactions with mysterious millionaire Jay Gatsby and Gatsby's obsession to reunite with his former lover, Daisy Buchanan. The novel has been adapted for the big screen many times, most recently in 2013 by Baz Luhrmann starring Leonardo DiCaprio as Jay Gatsby, Toby Maguire as Nick Carraway, and Carrey Mulligan as Daisy.
